Alorin's Coil Copper Anklet

The spiral at the center of this piece has the same shape that people have carved into stone and impressed into metal for longer than anyone can trace. I made this for the people who feel something when they see it - who put it on their ankle and catch themselves looking at it throughout the day.

The spiral is formed from an unbroken ribbon of copper, coiled by hand from the center outwards, then joined to a band that I shape separately and curve gently so that it sits correctly on the ankle. People who wear copper on their ankle tell me that their joints feel more stable - their knees, their feet, the parts that carry everything.

This is one of the last ankle bracelets I will make before I close my workshop. I hope the spiral finds the ankle it belongs to.
