Sigrid's Flow – Copper Coil for the Hand

Some jewellery isn't worn on the wrist or finger – it's worn all over the hand, and that changes everything. I made this for people who need to feel something move through them – a spiral formed from one continuous length of copper wire, wound turn by turn from the centre outwards until the shape is complete, with the tail of the wire extending over the back of the hand, where it rests against the skin all day.

Copper has been worn on the body for thousands of years, worn by people who needed to keep their circulation going, and those who return to me always say the same thing: their hands felt different in a way they couldn't explain, and then they stopped trying to explain it.

This is one of the last pieces I will make before I close my workshop forever. I hope it finds hands that need to feel that flow again.
