Copper Earrings Alorin

Some pieces change the way you carry yourself the moment you put them on. I made these for women who have stopped diminishing themselves - each fan is hand-cut from a sheet of copper into its precise half-moon shape, then hammered across its entire two-and-a-half-inch width, strike by strike, until the surface retains the warmth of every impact.

Copper has been worn close to the skin for thousands of years, worn by people who needed to feel the sun's warmth even when it wasn't there, and the women who come back to me always say the same thing: something inside them has reopened.

These are among the last earrings I will make before I close my workshop forever. I hope they find faces ready to take up space.
