Copper Earrings Alorin's Creek

Some pieces reward people who look carefully. These earrings I made for women who appreciate the quiet work within an object—the teardrop shape first formed from a single length of copper wire, then wrapped on its lower half, coil by coil, each coil set tightly against the last until the entire section is covered and the piece becomes what it was always meant to be.

Copper has been worn close to the skin for thousands of years, worn by people who needed something steady and fluid in their lives, and those who come back to me always say the same thing: it just feels good in ways they’ve stopped trying to explain.

These are among the last earrings I’ll make before I close my workshop for good. I hope they find ears that notice details.
