Copper Earrings Alorin

Some pieces announce themselves from the first wearing. I made these earrings for women who have stopped apologizing for taking up space - each one is cut from a sheet of copper, hand-shaped into its wide crescent form, then hammered across the whole surface, strike by strike, until the metal holds the memory of every blow.

Copper has been worn close to the skin for thousands of years, worn by women who needed to feel anchored in their own bodies, and those who come back to me always say the same thing: they stopped noticing what they used to notice.

These are among the last earrings I will make before I close my workshop for good. I hope they find ears that are ready to take up space.
