Copper Earrings Alorin's Creek

Some pieces reward people who look closely. I made these earrings for women who appreciate quiet craftsmanship within an object - the teardrop shape is first formed from a single length of copper wire, then wound around its lower half, coil by coil, each loop set tightly against the last, until the whole piece is covered and becomes what it was always meant to be.

Copper has been worn close to the skin for thousands of years, worn by people who needed something steady and fluid in their lives, and those who come back to me always say the same thing: it simply feels good in a way they've stopped trying to explain.

These are among the last earrings I will make before I close my workshop for good. I hope they find ears that notice the details.
