Copper Anklet Alorin's Reed

This is the piece I spent the most time on - every strand of the braid was woven by hand, over and under, with the tension kept even throughout the whole piece, so the pattern stays true to itself. I made this for people whose ankles and feet have carried weight for decades without complaint, who need their circulation to keep pace with lives that don't slow down.

There's something about the weight of this piece on the ankle - substantial, present - that people either notice right away, or come back later to tell me about. Those who wear copper all the time say the same thing: they've stopped noticing what they used to notice.

This is one of the last ankle bracelets I'll make before I close my workshop for good. I hope it finds the ankle that has earned it.
