Copper ring Alorin's Haven

There are pieces you make for strength and pieces you make for tenderness. This one is for tenderness. Four strands twisted into a single spiral, two tiny hearts set on each end of an open gap - one up, one down. It's the kind of ring that means something without having to say it.

I shape each strand separately, then hand-twist them together with round nose pliers, working slowly to keep the spiral even throughout. The hearts are shaped at the end, impressed and smoothed until they are secure. It's delicate work. I like delicate work.

Copper has been exchanged among people who care for each other for a long time. Worn close, worn daily, given in silence. That tradition needs no explanation - it simply continues.
