There’s something about copper on the wrist, the warmth it offers, the weight that settles in. The jade insert, I set by hand. A strip of color that stands the way moss stands on a rock, as if it was always meant to be there.

People who wear copper on their wrists continue to wear it. Forty years, and I’ve never had to explain why.
